Embrace the Harvest 2026

A Mindful Eating Retreat - A PEI Fall Flavours Signature Event

Come hungry… for food, fresh air, and a little more joy in how you eat.

Embrace the Harvest is Fall Flavours Signature Event. Join us for our 2-night, 3-day retreat where we slow down, tune in, and celebrate the delicious connection between food, nature, and wellbeing. Set among the forests and coastal beauty of Nature Space Resort, this experience blends mindful eating, hands-on culinary experiences, nature adventures, and a few cozy moments around the fire.

Think of it as part wellness retreat, part culinary playground, and part permission slip to actually taste your food again, all while showcasing Prince Edward Island’s incredible culinary scene.

This retreat brings together some of PEI’s talented chefs, food experts, and local producers to share the flavours, stories, and traditions that make the Island such a special place to eat.

No rushing.
No eating lunch at your keyboard.
Just good food, good people, and a healthy helping of nature.

Meet Your Facilitators

Chef Richard Charron

I am Metis but I was disconnected from my roots. I got my status about nearly 10 year ago and am reconnecting to my heritage. My partner Rachel and I were working out West when the pandemic hit. We were both working in high-end hospitality businesses and lost our work. We decided to move back to where I grew up, in Charlottetown, P.E.I., and we have had incredible support from the Indigenous community. For the last 20 years, I have been working in high-end Italian and French cuisine. We had already branded our company Noble Chef. But now I want to do more to incorporate that Indigenous flair and bring more Indigenous ingredients into the cuisines that I have been creating.

Trevor Grant

Trevor Grant has been performing his magical SoundEscapes sound journeys here at Nature Space Resort since we opened. Trevor says "I have been fascinated by sound for as long as I can remember, be it the wind in the trees, a metal railing echoing in a great hall, a rock band in full flight or the most delicate tap of a cymbal, it all speaks to me. As a percussionist I get to explore and release all sorts of frequencies, from primal beats of a drum to the gentle sparkle of tiny bells, Adding the breath of wooden flutes creates a palette of sounds that allow for a full range of expression. For me, music is a multi-sensory experience, something that is not only heard, but felt. My hope for my SoundEscape sessions is for people to experience sound and music in a deeper more attentive way than usual and to bring attention to the important role our sonic environment can play in our daily lives."

Chef Cory Johnston

After 25 years in the culinary industry Chef Cory Johnston moved his family back to Eastern PEI where he and his wife started their business endeavor, The Golden Dory. He dedicates the summer months serving locals and tourists classic takeout fare with refined flavors all while using as products from the area . Winters are spent at the Culinary Institute of Canada where he takes pride in teaching future chefs the skills and etiquette to excel in the industry.

Kate MacQuarrie

Mushroom foraging played a major part in my journey to overcome tremendous anxiety after moving to the island from a very violent South Africa in 2019. Without even realizing it I was spending hours at a time in a meditational state in the woods and very quickly starter noticing how much calmer and happier I felt. I couldn't stop talking about mushrooms to my friends and anyone that wanted to learn and very quickly started teaching Islanders about mushrooms as The Red Island Mushroom Hunter. Mushrooms are an integral part of the immune system of our planet's soil and vegetation. They are also natural recyclers that maintain ecosystems that support life and biodiversity. Through teaching people how to cultivate mushrooms at home and forage in the wild I help people to harness these benefits in their own lives.
