Many of our tours involve kayaks, but we get it, not everyone likes to paddle!
This is for those who just want to slow down, learn something real, and enjoy oysters exactly where they should be enjoyed.
No boats. No rush.
Just a relaxed, hands-on experience that connects you to one of Prince Edward Island’s most iconic foods.
Oysters 101 is hosted by Jarrod, Nature Space owner and former provincial oyster biologist.
But here, the focus is simple:
understanding oysters in a way that feels approachable, not overwhelming.
This isn’t a lecture.
And it’s not a performance.
It’s a conversation shaped by experience, curiosity, a genuine connection to this place, and a desire to share it with others.

Each Oysters 101 experience is led by Jarrod
Jarrod is the former provincial oyster biologist and the co-owner of Nature Space Resort. He brings deep marine knowledge, a love of learning, and a great sense of humour to each and every experience. He serves as a source of expertise for many of the other oyster experiences on the island, and is deeply respected by the industry.
There are not lots of tours led by people with this depth of knowledge. This is your chance to learn from one of them.

Learn to Shuck Oysters with an Expert!
We’ll start with the basics: what oysters are, how they grow, and what makes PEI oysters so distinctive.
From there, you’ll begin to notice the details:
How flavour changes from one oyster to the next.
What “briny” actually means.
Why texture matters.
You’ll learn how to properly shuck an oyster (with guidance, at your own pace), and gain the confidence to do it yourself, or simply enjoy watching and tasting.
You’ll sample a selection of fresh PEI oysters, served simply to highlight their natural character.

When you understand what goes into them – the water, the care, the time – the experience shifts from just eating to truly appreciating.
