We launch from Atlantic Shellfish in Morell, PE and within minutes, you’re paddling over an active oyster lease.

Learn to Shuck Oysters in a Whole New Way!!
The Experience
We have partnered with a local oyster company to offer this one of a kind experience.
Once you arrive you will meet your experienced guide and local oyster expert, Jarrod (the past provincial oyster biologist for PEI).
From there, we paddle out over the oyster lease.
You’ll see firsthand how oysters are grown and cultivated on Prince Edward Island — how they’re suspended, handled, and cared for throughout their lifecycle. You’ll have the opportunity to lift and open oyster bags, look inside, and get a real sense of the conditions that shape them.
It’s tactile. Up-close. And unexpectedly engaging.
No glass tanks. No displays.
Just the real thing, in the place it happens.
Jarrod will explain the life cycle of an oyster and share common farming techniques here on PEI. He will also share a few funny stories and is happy to answer all your oyster questions!
After time on the water, we return to shore.
This is where it all comes together.
You’ll learn how to properly shuck an oyster (optional, but encouraged), and then enjoy six freshly harvested PEI oysters, farmed directly from the lease you just explored.

Each tour is led by Jarrod
Jarrod is a former provincial oyster biologist and a world-class sea kayaker. He brings deep marine knowledge, serious paddling expertise, and a calm confidence on the water that makes everyone feel like a natural.
There are lots of kayaking tours out there.
There are not lots of tours led by people with this depth of knowledge.
This is an experience where you get to see, hear, smell, touch, and even taste the world around you and get “SHUCKED IN” in a whole new way!

Tours may be cancelled due to insufficient participant numbers or if management determines the weather to be inclement. If the resort cancels the experience you will be provided with full refund.
